There were a total of thirty two teams who signed up for this charity event.  It was a best ball scramble with a couple of extra rules thrown in to trip you up.  The teams checked in at 8:00 am and the tee time kick off was at 9:00 am.  Representing Team Perkins was Christine Sunday and Cody Long of Perkins Construction, Inc., Greg Patrick from Treasure Valley Fire Protection and Cody Larsen from Architects Building Supply.  Representing Team C-2 was James Cliff of Perkins Construction, Inc., Chris Wessel of Pacific Steel and Gypsum, Chad Schlicter of Schlicter Architects and Brian Klemann.

After checking in we  found our assigned  carts that  were already lined up and ready to go.  We loaded our bags, put on our golf shoes and checked to make sure we had all the essentials like tees, markers and plenty of golf balls for water hazards.  Then we anxiously waited for the tee time kick off.  Team Perkins was the lead off team and Team C-2 brought up the rear.

It was a beautiful day with a slight breeze blowing.  During the course of the day it did warm up but there were plenty of refreshments and snacks along the way to quench your thirst and keep your energy up.  The girls manning those refreshment stands were very congenial, even in the heat and did a great job.  We all appreciated them.  Playing golf makes you very thirsty.

There were several holes with prizes that you could win such as longest putt, longest drive and closest to the pin.  And of course you could buy mulligan's for your team if you so desired.  Team Perkins didn't place but we sure had a lot of fun.  We met up with Team C-2 once during the course of the day.  Team C-2 didn't place either but they too had a great time.  How could you not have a great time for such a wonderful cause and such a fantastic course to play on?  I think all the teams would agree with that.

Falcon Crest is a beautiful and challenging golf course to play.  There is a lot of water, sand traps and trees at every turn.  When you play this course, you want to make sure you have plenty of extra golf balls in case you have a tendency to like the water.  Needless to say, Team Perkins lost a few golf balls in the water.  Not only is there a lot of water but there are some very long and narrow fairways.  All of these factors make this a wonderful and challenging place to golf. The layout and greens are fantastic. If you want a challenge this is the place to go.

At the end of the day they had a banquet set up in the club house.  They served grilled chicken, rolls, salads, chips, drinks and deserts.  After we ate they auctioned off some great trips and other items such as BSU sideline tickets and drew the winning tickets for all the different raffles.

All in all, it was a beautiful day, a great turn out, lots of fun for everyone who attended and a very successful worth while charity event.  You couldn't have asked for anything better then that.  What a great "Tribute To The Troops".
